Feb. 16 @ 7pm – District Meeting

As we get ready for the 2017 season I just wanted to give everyone  jump start on some of the forms that need to be filled out by your league.

The District meeting will be Thursday, Feb. 16th, at 7:00pm at the Santa Fe Girls fields (12330 6th St., Santa Fe, tX 77510). It is important that every league have a representative present. I will distribute the Rule Books and Scorebooks at the meeting. I need for each league to give me a count as to how many teams they will have for 2017 before the meeting.

Below are two forms:
The Registration form – needs to be filled out and returned to me no later then March 1st along with your registration fees.   Deadline for registration fees is March 1st. Registration fees are $18.00 per player, Late fee after March 1st is $20.00 per player

The District Roster – needs to be tuned into me as soon as you have your drafts and form you league teams. All girls will be covered by the USA Softball Insurance for tryouts and practices until the March 1st deadline.  After that time the insurance will no longer be available until your league has been registered.  Do not use any other forms other than the forms provided.  Do not change anything on the forms.

I know there are a number of new people representing their leagues, it is important that as many of you attend this meeting.

Items that will be discussed:

  • Players and Leagues Insurance
  • District Guidelines
  • District Directory
  • Pixie Rule Changes
  • District & State Tournaments
  • Regional, Hall of Fame, & National Tournaments
  • The New USA Softball Program
  • 12 & Under Regional  Select Team
  • Background Checks
  • Umpire Selections
  • Your roll as a League Official

I look forward to seeing all of you soon!

The State requires that Umpires calling in Championship play requires them to attend at least one school within a 3 year period.  There are only 4 schools scheduled in the state. If you miss this one you will have to travel; the closest one after this one is in Lufkin. It is important that we have as many umpires attend this school.

We are only 2 weeks away from Dec. 3rd and registrations for the school are coming in slow.  The deadline for registration is getting close; to avoid paying the extra $10.00 fee you need to get your registration in.  If you cannot get the form to me contact me via email and let me know you will be attending. Lunch is being provided and I need a head count to make sure I order enough food and drinks.

We have our district tournaments 6,8,10,12 &14 U during the month of May plus the 14 A/B state tournament as well as the 6/8 NIT. scheduled in June, there is plenty of work for umpires. All of the state tournaments except the 6 & 8 U are on the 3rd  weekend of June, the 6 & 8 U NIT tournaments are on the 2nd weekend in June and the 6/8 State is on the 1st weekend in June.

7/26/16 @7:00pm District Fall Ball Meeting

In preparation for the upcoming Fall Ball Season we will be having a meeting on Tuesday, July 26th at 7:00 PM at the Santa Fe Girls Softball Complex (12330 6th St., Santa Fe, TX 77510).  Teams that are interested in playing in the Fall Ball Season need to attend this meeting.  We will discuss Rules, Registration and Fees.

What is the purpose of Fall Ball?

Fall Ball was designed to help girls that did not play in the regular softball season and to help girls that are moving up in age classification to get prepared for the for the 2017 season.  It seems we have gotten away from this the past few years.

Unlike regular season, there are no championship tournaments and no trophies.  This is basically training for the girls.
